15-17 December, 2022

in Bangkok

collaboration

Biological Sciences Graduate Congress (BSGC) is an annual congress organized by and dedicated to graduate students from three collaborating universities: National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore; University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia; and Chulalongkorn University (CU), Thailand. The BSGC provides platforms for graduate students and delegates from other universities to exchange ideas and present the most recent findings from their research. The congress also builds bridges to establish future collaborations among regional young scientists. Throughout the decades, the BSGC has been attracting and welcoming participants from several academic and research institutions in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Taiwan etc.
In 2022, the 27th BSGC will be organized by Chulalongkorn University. We are honored to invite you to participate in this congress. The congress themes are very broad covering several approaches of biological sciences. There are four themes running in parallel sessions including:

  • Applied Science and Biotechnology
  • Biochemistry and Physiology
  • Biodiversity, Ecology and Systematic
  • Cell and Molecular Biology
  • “New Normal”

The COVID-19 pandemic has been spreading since 2019 and indeed it unavoidably had an impact on many aspects of our lives, including social cohesiveness, economic structure, healthcare systems, education systems, and scientific community. To prevent the spread of this pandemic and allow us to continue living normally, several precautions were put in place, such as screening for COVID-19 infection before engaging in any activities, wearing a mask, keeping our hands sanitized with alcohol, and practicing social distancing. Moreover, the significant transformation of social activities that were moved to the online platform. Thus, the COVID-19 pandemic altered our lifestyle and this “New Normal” is something that we will never get used to.
We cannot deny that the biological sciences have contributed significantly to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, for example, the development of COVID-19 vaccines and the ATK for rapid COVID-19 virus detection. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic knowledge being shared among biological scientists, there are currently many ways to prevent getting infected with COVID-19. The international congress/conference offers a forum for scientists worldwide to discuss and share new ideas that will lead to new scientific discoveries and encourage future collaboration.
According to above-mentioned reason, on behalf of the Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, it is our honor to serve as the host for “The 27th Biological Sciences Graduate Congress (BSGC 2022)” , which will be held on-site at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand during December 15th to 17th, 2022. We hope to see you soon at the congress in the “New Normal” style.
